Touring with Duy

Last weekend I met up with my friend Duy. He's an Ole who also happened to be an international student from Hanoi. The first time I met up with him was when there wasn't any water or power in our apartment building, so his family graciously allowed me to spend the night at their house. But this time was more for exploring.

We went out for lunch and had a stir fried version of pho, which is a quite popular noodle/broth dish. It was actually quite good. Plus, having Duy makes ordering food so much easier! :D We also went for smoothies at a rooftop bar overlooking Hoan Kiam lake.

...and then on a tour around the city on his motorbike. We visited the Cathedral, a buddhist temple, and a political prison (Hoa Lo) which was intended to hold Vietnamese prisoners, particularly political prisoners.

Thanks for being a great tour guide, Duy!!
